Greene, - Delbert R. Mason, Sr. 71, a resident of Greene, passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, December 10th, 2018 with his loving family by his side. He was born on September 30, 1947 in Bethel Maine, the son of Alfred C. Mason and Bernice L. (Tibbetts) Mason. Delbert attended primary school in Greene and Lewiston High School. Delbert proudly served his country in the U.S. Army for 24 years; joining the army in 1966 and from 1967 to 1968 served in Vietnam in the 25th Infantry Division. Delbert then served with Army Reserve in Auburn, the 619 Transportation Company and served in Desert Storm-Persian Gulf War, 1990 to 1991. In Lock Mills, Maine he married the love of his life, Marilyn Bailey and they had a wonderful life together for 49 years. He was employed at Bath Iron Works as a pipefitter and retired in 2009. Delbert was a member of the V.F.W. Post in Lewiston, Maine. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, reading history novels, cook books, and above all his family and spending time with his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Marilyn Mason of Greene, two sons; Delbert R Mason, Jr. and wife Dawn of Greene, Kenneth Mason and wife Lena of Monmouth, three daughters; Lisa Mason, Michelle Woodbury and husband Kevin, Karen Nadeau and husband Brian all of Greene, 11 grandchildren; Tyler, Taylor, Emily, Elizabeth, Ryan, Mason, Reilly, Sawyer, Ashley, Ellianna, Greyson, a special sister-in-law, Elaine Bailey of Greene, 4 sisters; Eleanor Flanders of South Paris, Shirley Betti of Greene, Virginia Curtis of Leeds, Pat Green and husband Dennis of Greene, his special dogs; Abby and Mollie. He was preceded by his parents, his brothers; Ernest, Richard, Gary and his twin brother, Albert and a sister, Janet Waja.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, December 15th, 2018 at the BRAGDON-FINLEY FUNERAL HOME, 707 Main Street, Monmouth, Maine. Visiting will be from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M. prior to the funeral at the funeral home. Interment with full military service will be in the spring at Valley Cemetery, Route 202 Greene, Maine 04236.
