Obituary for Barbara A. Mears (Brackett)

Jay – Barbara A. (Brackett) Mears, 44, a resident of Jay, passed away Tuesday, June 7, 2022, after a courageous battle with cancer, at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on June 18, 1977, in Farmington, the daughter of Malcolm D. and Elaine M. (Nadeau) Brackett. Barb was a 1995 Graduate of Livermore Falls High School and went on to earn her Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Nursing at St. Joseph’s College. On September 3, 2016, she married Jonathan M. Mears in Turner. Barb worked as a Hospice Nurse with Androscoggin Home Health and Hospice. She was a former member of the Farmington Chamber of Commerce. Barbara was proud to be a part of a support group that sponsored organ and tissue donation, she herself was a donor as well as a recipient. She is survived by her parents Elaine Brackett and Richard Taylor, her husband Jonathan Mears, her sons Skyler and Bryson Hiscock, her sister Karen Brackett, her brother Mark Brackett all of Jay, her special niece and nephew, Lauren Brackett and Cameron Cain, as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by her father, Malcolm Brackett, her paternal grandparents, Rosaire and Florence Nadeau, and her maternal grandparents, Robert and Agnes Brackett. A Graveside Service will be held at 11AM, on Saturday, June 11, 2022, at Holy Cross Cemetery, 445 Park Street, Livermore Falls, Maine.
