Leeds – David Rodney Bennett, Sr., 79, a resident of Leeds, passed away Monday, July 3, 2023, at home. He was born on April 14, 1944, in Westbrook, Me., the son of Walter and (Margaret) Eleanor (Drown) Bennett. David was a graduate of Scarborough High School. He worked as a Kitchen Installation Manager in Nashua, New Hampshire until his retirement. In June of 1999, he married Ardella Ruth King. They were married for 22 years, together for 30 years until her passing in 2021. In his younger years David was a Boy Scout, a member of the Civil Air Patrol, and briefly attended Maine Maritime Academy. He was an avid photographer. David loved sailing and especially spending time with his family any chance he could. He is survived by his sons David Bennett, Jr. and his wife Megan of Topsham, daughters Cheri Bennett of Florida, Tia Roberts and her husband Seth of Skowhegan, Julie Bennett and her husband Archie of Texas, Gina Ryder and her husband Bob of Portland, Corinne Ryan and her husband Richard of Leeds, Elizabeth Duncan and her husband Shane of Tennessee, Jennifer Raymond and her husband Jason of New Hampshire, Victoria Wise and her husband Philip of Alabama, Joel Hall and his wife Zoe of Westbrook. He is also survived by 24 grandchildren & 22 great grandchildren. He is predeceased by his parents, his wife Ardella Bennett, a granddaughter Madison & grandson Gabriel.
