Augusta – Delwin Jesse Punneo, 71, a resident of Livermore Falls, passed away on Tuesday, January 3, 2023, at Maine General Hospital in Augusta, Maine, following a brief illness. He was born on February 15, 1951, in San Pedro, California, the son of Jesse and Lois (Hill) Punneo. Delwin attended Narbonne High School in California. He worked as a maintenance mechanic at the same plant in Chattanooga, Tennessee, for 45 years. He started when it was Planters Snacks, then Wrigley, and finally Mars. On August 1, 1969, in Torrance, California, he married Jacqueline “Jackie” Stevens. Delwin enjoyed scuba diving at Choo-Choo Dive Center where he was part owner. He was a member of Southern Cruisers Motorcycle Riding Club and the Jay-Livermore Falls Lions Club. Delwin loved muscle cars and was a member of the Mustang Car Club in Chattanooga, Tennessee. He was also a member of the Victory Church in Chattanooga, Tennessee and an attendee of the Fayette Baptist Church in Fayette. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Jacqueline “Jackie” Punneo of Livermore Falls, his brother David Punneo of Redondo Beach, California, his niece Tara Punneo of California, his nephews; Jason Punneo of California, Scott Wyly of Mesa, Arizona, and Brandon Wyly of Livermore, his sister-in-law Donna Ovington and husband Mike of Livermore, and his great-niece Chloe Wyly of Livermore.
