Portland – Ellen M. Severance, 44, a resident of Litchfield, passed away Sunday, March 12, 2023, at Maine Medical Center in Portland, surrounded by her family following a medical event. She was born January 6, 1979, in Lewiston, the daughter of James L. Leavitt and Marjorie J. Norris. She attended school at Monmouth Academy and spent many years working in the kitchen at South Monmouth Market. On December 22, 2000, she married Earl D. Severance III, together they had two children that she loved with all her heart. She devoted her time to her family and her home. She loved spending time with her granddaughter and best friend, Miley. Ellen also loved going to the family camp at Kingsbury Pond, hiking with her husband Earl, gardening, and her newly found hobby of crocheting, mostly making things for her grandchildren. She is survived by her husband Earl D. Severance III, her daughter, Courtney E. Hobbs and husband Corey, her son, Kyle L.R. Severance, granddaughter, Miley J. Hobbs all of Litchfield; her sisters, Katrina L. Leavitt of Florida and Jaime M. Dumond and husband Philip of Poland; as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
