Obituary for Garrick Maynard Grant

Auburn – Garrick Maynard Grant, 71, a resident of Turner passed away Sunday, April 24, 2022, at Hospice House of Androscoggin following a recent medical event. He was born June 22, 1950, in Lewiston, the son of Maynard Nichols Grant and Christine (Gustus) Grant. He was a 1968 graduate of Leavitt High School in Turner and received a bachelor's degree in civil engineering from the University of Maine Orono in 1974, later receiving his mechanical engineering degree. He worked at Stone & Webster Engineering Company for 31 years before his retirement in 2005, specializing in the nuclear power industry. Garrick was a devoted member and deacon of the North Turner Union Presbyterian Church. He enjoyed remodeling his family home and caring for the flower beds and grounds, but his real passion was art and painting, capturing the beauty around him. He is survived by his sisters, Gayla Grant and her sons, Miles and Devon all of Silver City, New Mexico, and Jessup of Minnesota, and Tanya Strout and her husband Nathan and their daughter Sydney of Monmouth, close friends and cousins, Ike and Jody Goodwin of Turner, Alan Pollis, Cathy Sears, the Gustus, Pulsifer, Grant and Safford clans as well as many other cousins, friends and associates. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, May 2, 2022, at FINLEY FUNERAL HOME, 15 Church Street, Livermore Falls, Maine. Visiting hours 4-7 PM on Sunday, May 1, 2022, at the funeral home. Interment at Howes Corner Cemetery, Howes Corner Road, Turner, Maine. Gathering for friends and family at the GAR Hall Route 219 in North Turner following the services with light refreshments for all.
