Obituary for Jeannette M. Henry (Pomerleau)

Readfield – Jeannette M. Henry, 97, a former resident of Jay, passed away peacefully, Friday January 12th at her daughter’s home in Readfield. She was born January 26, 1926, the daughter of Harold and Aurore (Breton) Pomerleau. She attended St. Rose of Lima grade school and graduated from Jay High School in 1944. On June 9, 1947, she married Emile J. Henry at St. Rose of Lima Church in Jay. They enjoyed 60 years of marriage before his passing in 2007. Jeannette was a homemaker, caring for her family, as well as working at the Glove Factory, Bass Shoe, and Norwalk Shoe. She was a communicant of St. Rose of Lima Church. Jeannette enjoyed cooking, knitting, sewing, crocheting, quilting, and gardening. Her most precious time spent was with her children and grandchildren. She will be remembered as a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. She will be deeply missed by those that knew her and loved her. She is survived by her three daughters, Penny Henry of Readfield; Paula Jones (Robert) of Onancock, VA; and Patricia Ouellette of Jay, two sons, Roger Henry (Debora) of Jay; and Randy Henry (Karen) of Leeds, seven grandchildren; Michael, Bambi, Justin, Sarah, Joshua, Elizabeth, and Alex, 10 great-grandchildren, Courtney, Corey, Megan, Steven, Amelia, Logan, Abel, Mia, Max, and Lily, one great-great-grandchild, Sawyer; two brothers, Harold and Gerard Pomerleau of Jay, four sisters, Bernadette Cloutier of Lewiston, Lucille Richard, Claire Jacques, and Elaine Haley, all of Jay; and son-in-law John Davis of Livermore Falls. She was predeceased by her parents, husband, daughter Pam Davis, three sisters, Pauline Hebert, Joan Doiron, and Marie Arnold and son-in-law, Raymond Ouellette.
