Auburn – Joan E. (Losey) Lemieux, 62, a resident of Fayette, transitioned peacefully from this life to the next on April 25, 2023, at Androscoggin Hospice House in Auburn with her daughters by her side. She was born in Farmington on December 20, 1960, the youngest of three children to George Robert “Bob” and Pearl E. (James) Losey. She grew up in Livermore Falls. In September of 1983, in Livermore Falls, she married Joseph Lemieux, they later divorced. Joan made a life for herself as a single mother. She worked several part time jobs over the years, more for the enjoyment of working than for the income. She enjoyed sewing, playing cards, bowling, playing pool, and spending time with family and friends. Besides being a mother to her two daughters, Joan’s greatest joy in life was being a Meme to her grandchildren. She loved each of her grandchildren beyond measure, spoiling them with love as much as she did with sweet treats and presents. After a 25-year-long battle with COPD, Joan is now free of her bodily confines and her family has no doubt she is on her way to her next great adventure. Joan is survived by her daughters Jennifer and husband Carey Norton, and Janette and husband Cody Turner, her grandchildren Alana, Brayden, Colton, and Emma, niece Jessica St. Laurent, nephews Jake and JJ Losey, and great niece Vanessa Burnham. She was predeceased by her parents, sister Juanita “Nita” Losey, brother James “Jim” Losey, long-time friend Larry-Jo Kelly, and her first-born grandchild Kyah Lemieux Norton. A funeral service will be held at 11AM, May 1, 2023, at FINLEY FUNERAL HOME, 15 Church Street, Livermore Falls, Maine. Visitation will be held from 10AM-11AM prior to the service. Interment at Moose Hill Cemetery, Record Road, Livermore Falls, Maine, immediately following the service.
