Obituary for Laurie B Marston

Auburn – Laurie B. Marston, 59, a former resident of Leeds, passed away Saturday, April 29th at Clover Manor Nursing Home due to early onset dementia. She was born January 2, 1964 in Middletown, Connecticut, the daughter of Linwood and Joan (St. Peter) Blake. She was a graduate of Leavitt Area High School in Turner. In her younger years she had worked at Country Kitchen in Lewiston and as a bartender at some of the local bars. On October 9, 1995, she married Dale Marston of Leeds, devoting her time to her family and her home. Laurie was known for her huge garden and her canning, showing her boys, and her nieces and nephews how to care for plants and the land. Laurie mastered cooking on her wood cook stove as well as grinding the best corn meal from the corn she grew in her huge garden. She was a very creative person, sewing, making beautiful jewelry pieces, pocketbooks out of jean shorts and other craft items. Laurie was also a good hunter, and her dream was to become a female hunting guide, she loved the outdoors. Laurie could do anything she made up her mind to do, from repiping a house to rebuilding and engine. She had many talents. Laurie enjoyed country and rock music, Pink Floyd, Lynyrd Skynyrd and over the past couple of years danced often with her older sister Robin Farrin to Bonnie Raitt, Aretha Franklin, and others during her stay at Clover Health Care where she was truly loved by the staff there. She is survived by her sons, William Marston of Leeds and Kenneth Marston and companion Brandy of Livermore Falls, granddaughter, Ellie Ann Marston, her parents, Linwood and Joan Blake of Port Richey, FL., her sisters, Holly Clark of Port, Richey, FL., and Robin Farrin of Belfast, ME., nieces and nephews, Crystal Banks of Port Richey, FL., Dan Clark of Waterville, ME, Arlo Farrin and wife Yvonne of South West Harbor, ME, Zoe Kestner of Portland, ME., Abigale Risbara and husband, Kettric of South Portland, ME., and Andrea Duguay of Turner, ME., as well as 4 great-nieces, Sydnee, Addison, Zaylie and Emma.
