Skowhegan – Leonel P. Michaud, 90, a lifelong resident of Skowhegan, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 8, 2023, at his home in Skowhegan. Lee was born on September 10, 1932, in Skowhegan, the only son of Lionel and Eva (Lagasse) Michaud. He attended schools in Skowhegan. Lee was a skilled carpenter and owned and built many beautiful homes over the years and had some of the best employees. Lee, along with Virginia (Ginny), enjoyed riding motorcycles and in later years enjoyed taking motorcycle trips with Walt and Vi Palmer. To some mowing the lawn is work, but Lee seemed to find mowing his VERY large lawn relaxing and looked forward to it. Lee loved dogs, especially beagles and they gave him purpose and filled his time during retirement. He spent many hours walking them in the back field. Sassy and Chewy were forever in his heart and never forgotten. Lee is survived by his wife Virginia Robertson Michaud, sister Karen Finley and husband Kenneth, children Chris Michaud and wife Wendy, Michael Michaud and ex-wife Patty, Valerie Michaud, Alan Michaud and wife Darcy, and Jeff Michaud and wife Jodie, 8 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, 2 great great-grandchildren, stepdaughters Pam Doble and husband Chris and Liane Johnson and husband Greg, 4 step grandchildren, 6 step great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, his daughter Christine Michaud, his son Lonnie Michaud, and the mother of his children Louise Field.
