Obituary for Mary Jane "Janie" Edmunds (Dube)

Jay – Mary Jane “Janie” (Dube) Edmunds, 83, a longtime resident of Jay, passed away Sunday, April 30, 2023, at her home in Jay. She was born July 11, 1939, in Jay, the daughter of Lucien and Juliette (Bellmare) Dube. Janie was a graduate of Jackman Academy in Jackman, Maine. Over the years she worked at Bates Mill in Lewiston, Lake Shore Restaurant in Livermore, Geiger Bros. in Lewiston, commercial cleaning, and working in group homes in Downeast Maine. Janie was a communicant of St. Rose of Lima in Jay and a lifetime member of the VFW Post 3335 Auxiliary in Jay. She is survived by her son Marc Edmunds and wife Angela of Wilton, her grandson George Edmunds of Wilton, her brother John Thomas Dube and wife Gail of Jay, her sisters Anita Dube of Waterville also known as Sister Marie Stella of the SJC, Julienne Shaw of Carnigee, PA, Claire Edmunds and husband Arthur of Philips, Elaine Smith and companion Maurice of Detroit, and Stella May Paquette and husband Stephen of Wilton, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, her sisters Vivian Gagnon and Mary Ann Dube, and her brothers Gerard, Lionel, Charles, André, and Willie Dube. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11AM, Tuesday, May 9, 2023, at St. Rose of Lima Church, 1 Church Street, Jay, Maine. Arrangements by FINLEY FUNERAL HOME, 15 Church Street, Livermore Falls, Maine. Interment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, 445 Park Street, Livermore Falls, Maine.
