Leeds – Noreen S. Chamberlain, 70, a resident of Leeds, passed away on Friday, December 10, 2021. Her family remembers her as a generous, selfless, hardworking, loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, friend, and “Nana” to many. She was born on December 29, 1950, in Farmington, one of fifteen children to Walter J. Bachelder, Sr. and Vilda F. (Moody) Bachelder. Noreen attended schools in Auburn, Leeds and receiving her GED in Turner. On July 31, 1966, she married Daniel Sawyer. They shared 17 loving years together raising their family in Leeds, until his passing on May 5, 1983. Noreen worked as a bus driver for special needs children and as an aid at the Kid’s Place. Noreen found love again when she met Virgil “Pete” Chamberlain, they married on August 10, 1996 in Turner. She enjoyed her visits to the casino’s playing the slot machines, quilting with family and friends, but her greatest love was her family, visiting, traveling, and spending time at camp with the grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Noreen is survived by her three daughters; Ellen Brown and husband Eric of Leeds, Margaret Rose and significant other Bill Flaherty of Sabattus, Vickie Verrick of Jefferson, three sons; Harry Sawyer and wife Melody of Leeds, Frank Sawyer and wife Diane of Durham, Dan’l Sawyer and significant other Angel Kidder of Leeds, 16 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, five sisters; Glenis Jackson of Avon, Irene Hafford of Leeds, Christine Hafford of Monmouth, Deana Hewins of Leeds, Evelyn Ray and husband Vern of Greene, six brothers; Leland Bachelder of Phillips, Earl Bachelder and wife Janice of Friendship, Dalon Bachelder of Leeds, Tony Bachelder and wife Becky of Buckfield, Dennis Bachelder and wife Cheryl of Pembrook, Steven Bachelder and wife Lisa of Leeds. and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, her first husband, Daniel Sawyer and three brothers; Walter R. Bachelder, George Bachelder and Leonard Bachelder.
