Obituary for Raymond P. Lagueux Sr.

Jay – Raymond P. Lagueux, Sr., 74, of Jay, passed away on Friday, April 14, 2023, at his daughter’s home where he had lived for the past 20 years. He was born September 6, 1948, in Lewiston, Maine, the son of Albert L. and Cora Louise (Saucier) Lagueux. He attended schools in Litchfield and Sabattus. Ray served in the United States Army from 1967 to 1969, during the Vietnam War. He worked at local shoe shops including Knapp Shoe. His family was his world. He especially loved spending time with his grandchildren and their friends, and he spent as much time with them as he could. He would pick them up from school whenever he had the chance, drive them to their various activities, helped them get their hours in so they could get their driver’s license, take them to their favorite stores or the mall, or just cruise around and let them blast their favorite music. He would also take them out for a bite to eat at one of his many favorite spots, Sam’s, Luigi’s Pizza, McDonalds, or Burger King. He also loved his morning Coffee at Dunkin Donuts with his daughter and granddaughter. Ray’s prized possession was his 1957 Chevy and he would tell anyone who would listen all about it. He recently hit a big milestone by making it to his grandson Dawson’s 2nd Birthday. Ray is survived by his daughter Melissa Vachon and partner Gary Holman of Jay, his son Raymond P. Lagueux, Jr. and partner Kristina Shorey of Norway, Brother David Lagueux and wife Louise of Lewiston, grandchildren Alexis, Dylan, Mariah, Kenneth, Austin, and Dawson, great grandson Carter, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, his sister Rena Lagueux, and brother Richard Lagueux. Messages of condolence may be sent to: www.finleyfuneralhome.com
