Auburn – Reinette Jean (Simoneau) Richards passed away at the age of 88 on March 29, 2023, while at Androscoggin Hospice House in Auburn. Reinnette was born on May 23, 1934, in Farmington, the daughter of Donat and Lea (Therrien) Simoneau. Rae attended Livermore Falls schools and graduated from Livermore Falls High School in the class of 1953. After High School her husband to be, Robert “Bobby”, joined the Navy and Rae worked at Livermore Shoe Shop for two years until Bobby was discharged from the Navy. On May 12, 1956, Rae married Bobby Richards and together they raised four children, daughter Joy and sons Jeff, Jack, and Peter. Rae loved being a stay-at-home mom. She loved to cook and bake and always had a big meal waiting for her family every evening. She learned to make beautiful cakes by going to cake decorating classes. She also went to sewing classes and made all kinds of beautiful stuffed animals, ornaments, and more. Rae also took a wood working class and made a beautiful old fashioned cradle for her first grandchild. She loved Christmas and shopped all year long for that special day and always put up all kinds of decorations. Her Children played all kinds of sports and lots of precious time was spent on the football field, baseball field, and in the gym on the basketball court. Above all Rae’s favorite thing to do was cook on her wood cook stove, no matter the season. Rae is survived by her daughter Joy Lake and husband Greg, her sons Jeff Richards and fiancé Desiree Dubreuil, Jack Richards and wife Angela, and Peter Richards and wife Lisa, grandchildren Brady and Ethan Lake, Jake Richards, Samantha Ring, Kasey Purington, Gabey and Mattey Richards, five great-grandchildren Kolby Cotton and Harper Lake, Murphy Lake, and twins Rowen and Russell Richards, a special niece Jill Donahue, sister Marlene Boivin, and sister-in-law Jeannine Simoneau. She was predeceased by her husband Bob, her parents, siblings Raymond, Pauline, Bert, Gerard, Paul, Larry, and Blanch, and many sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law.
