Obituary for Richard D. Cottle

Jay – Richard D. Cottle, 70, of Jay, Maine, passed away peacefully on June 18, 2022, at his home in Jay. He was born on August 17, 1951, in El Paso, Texas, the son of Frank and Patricia (Durgin) Cottle. He was a graduate of Edward Little High School in Auburn, Maine. On August 10, 1974, he married Eva Plourde. They were married for 42 years before her passing in 2017. He worked for many years with the North Atlantic States Carpenters Union as a carpenter on construction. He later worked as a welder for T&R Flagg Logging for many years. Richard was a member of the Hillside Sports Club in Jay. He volunteered for over 20 years at Spruce Mountain Ski Area in Jay. He is survived by his daughter Cari Cottle and partner Rebecca Rodgers of Jay, a very special adopted daughter Cara Thibodeau of Livermore, his grandchild Remi Cottle of Jay, his beloved Aunt Ruth Putney of Portland, his sibling-in-laws, William Plourde and wife Lee, Terri Plourde all of Las Vegas, Nevada, Joe Plourde and wife Melody, Kim Cook and husband David all of Jay, and Kathy Plourde of Murrells Inlet, SC, several nieces and nephews, and his beloved pets, Vinci and Sam. He was predeceased by his parents, his wife Eva Cottle, his son Cain Cottle, his brother Michael Cottle, brothers-in-law, Tom and Patrick Plourde and nephew, Matthew Roy. A Funeral Service will be held at 2PM, on Saturday, July 2, 2022, at FINLEY FUNERAL HOME, 15 Church Street, Livermore Falls, Maine. Visitation will be held from 4-7PM on Friday July 1, 2022, at the funeral home. Interment at Jay Hill Cemetery, Jay, Maine.
