Topsham- Richard O. Stevens, 32, a resident of Auburn, passed away unexpectedly on August 26, 2022. He was born December 13, 1989, in Lewiston, the son of Michael A. Stevens and Marie (Mathieu) Stevens. He attended Oak Hill High School. On July 17, 2021, in Casco, he married Stephanie Edwards. Richard was a welder and tent installer for New England Tent & Awning Company. Music was his life, he was a drummer and member of several bands including Twisted Theory, Whiskey Turbo, Everything In Between, and currently a member of Stronghold. Richard enjoyed going fishing and snowmobiling with his father and his son. He also enjoyed skateboarding, spending time with his son and teaching him new things, and going on road trips with his daughter and wife. Rick loved adventures and being spontaneous, he lived life to the fullest and with passion. He is survived by his wife Stephanie Stevens, a son Michael, and daughter Ashleigh all of Auburn, his step-son Justin Benedix and his daughter Kinsley of Lisbon, bonus daughter Tatum of Lewiston, his father Michael Stevens of Lisbon, his mother Marie Rodrigue and her husband Ron of Blounts Creek, NC, two sisters, Patricia (Stevens) Cottle and husband Chad and their children, Hailey & Colt of Greencastle, PA, and Stephanie (Stevens) Parker and her sons, Cole & Braden Stevens of Dighton, KS, his mother-in-law Dawn Edwards of Poland, a sister-in-law Christine Edwards and fiancé Steve of Oxford, a brother-in-law Eric Edwards and fiancé Noelle of Prairieville, LA, maternal grandfather Maurice Mathieu of Edgewater, Florida, best friend Marc Leclair and wife Casey of Litchfield, Daddy’s girl, his beloved dog “Bean,” and several aunts, uncles and cousins. He was predeceased by his paternal great grandfather Charles Wood, paternal grandparents Richard & Patricia Stevens, maternal grandmother Cecilia Mathieu, and father-in-law Royden Pierce. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. The family would like to thank the first responders and recovery teams from Topsham, Brunswick, Durham, and Lisbon along with the Maine Warden Service, and the Search & Rescue Dive Team. They are especially grateful for the presence of Chaplain Mark Rockwood, Sr of the Brunswick Police Department and the many friends, family members, and the music scene community for their love and support in the search and their continued support.
