Farmington – Rita Farrington, 83, a resident of Jay, passed away peacefully early Tuesday morning, November 8, 2022, at Sandy River Center in Farmington surrounded by her loving family. She was born February 16, 1939, in Livermore Falls, the daughter of Joseph Richard and Marie (Soucy) Richard. She was a 1958 graduate of Livermore Falls High School. On September 26, 1959, in Wilton, she married Stephen Farrington. They enjoyed 59 years together before his passing on May 16, 2019. Through the years Rita devoted her time to her family and home and worked at Livermore Falls Shoe, did bookkeeping and was a dispatcher for the police department. She enjoyed playing Bingo and spending time with her grandchildren. She is survived by her daughter, Kelly Pendleton and husband Todd of Mechanicsville, Virginia, sons, Richard Farrington of Reno, Nevada, and Chris Farrington and wife Diana of Jay, 6 grandchildren, Myles Fairlo, Chad and Isaac Prince, Abbie Costigan, Allie and Jacob Farrington, great-grandson, Max Fairlo, and her sister Pauline Richard and husband Larry Dumm of Kentucky. She was predeceased by her parents and her husband Stephen, brothers, Raymond and Louis Richard and her friend and mother-in-law, Alice Farrington.
