Auburn – Robert P. Taylor, 87, a resident of North Monmouth, passed away on Monday, February 27, 2023, at Androscoggin Hospice House in Auburn. He was born on February 24, 1936, in Rochester, New Hampshire, the son of Frank Taylor and Aldea (Bruno) Fleury. He was a graduate of Winthrop High School. On January 27, 1968, he married Ruth Bennett in Guilford, Maine. Robert worked at Carlton Woolen Mill in Winthrop, International Paper Company in Jay, Hughes Aircraft in California, owned and operated Andy’s Barn in Lewiston and later Bob and Ruth’s Auto in Winthrop. He was a member of the Elks Lodge in Lewiston and the Lions Club in Monmouth. Robert enjoyed fishing and hunting with his wife and traveling. Robert was one of the first lucky hunters selected for the moose lottery in 1980. He also loved his wife’s cooking. He is survived by his loving wife, Ruth Taylor of North Monmouth, his son, Craig E. Taylor his wife Kaela of Tucson, Arizona, two daughters, Theresa Sanborn of Augusta, Lisa Plourde of Belgrade, three grandchildren, Audrey Taylor, Dianna York, Bobby York, three sisters-in-law, Marilyn Lockhart, Lorrie Bennett, Pamela Taylor and several nieces and nephews.
